driving test booking from 31 March 2026 – what you need to know
Changes to driving test booking rules What’s changing?From 31 March 2026 Instructors and their pupils will only be able to change a car driving test up to 2 times (reduced from 6). This applies to all car driving tests booked by yhe Instructor or their pupils.
Swapping tests between the Instructor & pupils will count towards this limit, so we’d encourage ALL Instructors and their students to make sure to only book their test when they’re ready to take it.
* This is aimed at stopping students who are not independent and safe from just booking a test so they have a slot and hopefully take a step at reducing waiting times.
